TA2 Teaching Assistant - Year 2 Nelson, Lancashire Start Date: September 2026 Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 12:30pm £14.63 per hour TA2 Teaching Assistant Required We are currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic TA2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nelson from September 2026. This is a part-time, morning-only position working within a Year 2 class, supporting pupils to reach their full potential in a positive and engaging learning environment. The Role As a TA2 Teaching Assistant, you will: • Support teaching and learning within a Year 2 classroom. • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives. • Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy and classroom activities. • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons. • Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. Requirements To be considered for this role, you should: • Hold a TA2 qualification or have relevant classroom experience. • Have previous experience working within a primary school setting. • Be confident supporting Key Stage 1 pupils. • Have a positive, patient and proactive approach. • Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
