Job description

Annual salary: up to £32,510.38 PAT Tester Location: Northeast – field based Contract: Full Time, Permanent Salary up to £30,598 per annum, plus, commercial vehicle & fuel card 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs. As a PAT Tester you will be required to visit approximately 10 tenanted properties per day across the Northeast, travelling between locations as part of their daily duties. The role involves attending properties to test Mears supplied white goods, including fridges, kettles, microwaves, irons, hoovers and washing machines. The successful candidate must accurately complete testing documentation, recording appliance details and electrical readings, and capture clear before and after photographs of each item using a PDA, including images of the appliance and the PAT testing label. The tester may also be required to request photographs of white goods to confirm identification. Any failed items must be reported promptly to the Facilities Supervisor. Appliances such as fridges and washing machines must not be removed, as replacements will be arranged by the Facilities Supervisor. This role will be lone working unless a 2-person visit is required. To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
