Job description

Your new company Hays are delighted to be working with a growing and well-established organisation seeking additional support within its finance team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. Operating across multiple entities, the business offers a collaborative working environment and is currently entering an exciting period of development and growth. Your new role An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll & Finance Administrator to join the business on a fixed-term basis. The primary focus of the role will be managing end-to-end payroll across a group of companies, ensuring payroll is delivered accurately, on time and in line with all statutory requirements. Depending on the successful candidate's experience and desired working hours, the role may also incorporate wider finance responsibilities, including ownership of the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions. Key responsibilities will include: Processing end-to-end payroll across multiple entities. Managing payroll records, pensions and statutory payments. Ensuring payroll compliance and HMRC reporting requirements are met. Handling payroll queries and maintaining accurate employee records. Managing Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger activities. Processing supplier invoices and payments. Completing bank reconciliations. Supporting month-end finance processes. Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc reporting and administration. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position, you will have previous payroll experience and be confident in managing payroll processes from start to finish. You will also demonstrate: Experience as a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer or similar position. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience using payroll and finance systems. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. The following would be advantageous: Experience using NetSuite. Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger experience. Bank reconciliation experience. AAT studies or previous finance qualifications. Experience working within an SME or multi-entity environment. What you'll get in return 12-month maternity cover contract.
