Job description

NXTGEN are supporting a major organisation embarking on a large-scale Oracle Fusion Cloud transformation and are looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Design Lead to take ownership of the Payroll workstream throughout the implementation. This is a key leadership role within a complex ERP programme, offering the opportunity to shape the future Payroll function from design through to go-live. Working closely with senior stakeholders, business leaders and the Oracle implementation partner, you'll ensure the solution is configured in line with legislative requirements, business needs and Oracle best practice. This is not a traditional Payroll Manager position. Instead, we're looking for someone with proven experience delivering Oracle Fusion Payroll implementations who can lead design workshops, challenge where appropriate, influence key decisions and successfully deliver a modern, integrated Payroll solution. The RoleAs Payroll Design Lead, you'll be responsible for leading the end-to-end Payroll workstream across the implementation lifecycle. From functional design and process mapping through to testing, cutover and post go-live support, you'll play a central role in ensuring a successful deployment. Working across Payroll, HR and wider business functions, you'll help design future-state processes, oversee configuration activities, support data migration and integrations, and ensure the new solution delivers a compliant, efficient and user-friendly Payroll function. You'll also act as the key link between operational stakeholders and the implementation partner, translating business requirements into practical Oracle Fusion solutions whilst championing an "adopt not adapt" approach wherever possible. Key Responsibilities • Lead the Payroll workstream throughout the Oracle Fusion implementation. • Facilitate design workshops and define future-state Payroll processes. • Work closely with the implementation partner on Payroll configuration and solution design. • Ensure Payroll integrates effectively with HR, Finance and other business systems. • Support data migration, reporting and system integrations. • Lead Payroll testing, including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and parallel payroll runs. • Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, pensions and governance standards. • Support cutover planning, go-live readiness and post-implementation stabilisation. • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Payroll, HR and the wider programme. About YouTo be successful, you'll bring proven experience delivering Oracle Fusion Payroll implementations from design through to go-live. You'll have experience across: • Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll. • Oracle HCM and Payroll integration points. • Multiple end-to-end Oracle implementation projects. • Payroll functional design and configuration. • UK Payroll legislation, HMRC and pensions. • Process mapping and business transformation. • Payroll testing, parallel runs and go-live activities. • Working alongside third-party implementation partners. • Influencing senior stakeholders and leading complex workshops. Experience within the public sector or another highly regulated environment would be advantageous, although we're equally keen to speak with candidates who have delivered similar Oracle Payroll transformation programmes elsewhere. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role within a major transformation programme, taking ownership of the Payroll workstream and helping to deliver a modern Oracle Fusion solution that will support the organisation for years to come. Rate offered D.O.E Please note this is inside IR35, with presence in Staffordshire required at key milestones
