Job description

This Payroll Manager role based in Wantage is all about ensuring smooth and accurate payroll operations. You'll handle the day-to-day processing of payroll, manage a small and friendly team, and help the wider accounting and finance team stay on top of payments and compliance. Client Details An established organisation based in Wantage. Please note the role is 5 days in the office, and the company have lots of great benefits to working there. There is onsite parking. Description • End-to-end Payroll experience. • Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and regulations. • Oversea all Payroll processing activities. • Take ownership of payroll accounting activities, including payroll journals, balance sheet reconciliations and control account management, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. • Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies effectively. • Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity. • Collaborate with the accounting and finance department on payroll-related matters. • Prepare payroll reports and provide analysis as required. • Year-end processes, including tax reporting and reconciliations. • Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and practices. • Manage a small Payroll team. Profile A successful Payroll Manager should have: • Experience in end-to-end payroll within a similar role. • Experience of payroll reconciliations, controls and audit processes. • Experience delivering payroll improvement and change initiatives. • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements. • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel. • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. • Effective communication and problem-solving skills. • Experience of managing a team is advantageous.
