Pharmacy Assistant

This is a full-time temporary position, working 37.5 hours per week, to provide maternity leave cover, with the option of the role becoming permanent. Expected hours 37.5 hrs per week (weekdays only). Taggart's Pharmacy are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and friendly pharmacy assistant. As part of our team you will work within the dispensary and assist with over the counter sales. We require someone with general retail experience and a willingness to learn pharmacy skills through on the job training. Your role will primarily involve supporting the pharmacist in providing high quality patient care and customer service. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team will contribute to the smooth operation of the pharmacy. Previous pharmacy experience preferred, but not essential, full training will be provided. Responsibilities: • Assist in preparation of prescriptions and delivery of pharmacy services. • Customer reception/ serving customers. • Providing knowledge or advice on OTC products. • Responding to Telephone enquiries. • Collection of prescriptions. • Receiving, checking and storing of pharmaceutical stock. • General Housekeeping, cleaning and other ad-hoc duties as required. Requirements: General retail experience (1-2 years) • A minimum of 1 years experience as a Pharmacy Assistant is essential; additional training will be provided for the right candidate. • A minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent are required. • Flexibility to work as and when required. • Able to use initiative and take responsibility. • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Demonstrate attention to detail. • Be hard working, trustworthy, enthusiastic and willing to learn. • Previous pharmacy experience preferred, but not essential. • Pharmacy interact and/or NVQ level 2 preferred.
