• Blood Sample Collection: Carry out venepuncture in line with clinical guidelines to obtain blood samples safely and efficiently. • Patient Care and Comfort: Support patients throughout the process, helping them feel at ease and responding appropriately to any concerns or anxiety. • Sample Handling: Accurately label, store, and prepare samples for transport to the laboratory, ensuring full compliance with procedures. • Infection Prevention and Safety: Adhere to infection control standards, including safe disposal of sharps and maintaining a clean clinical environment. • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient information, requested tests, and samples within the clinical system. • Stock Control: Monitor and restock phlebotomy supplies to ensure equipment is always available. • Team Working: Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and administrative staff to support effective patient care and service delivery. • Professional Development: Keep knowledge up to date with best practice and attend training as required.
