Job description

As detailed within the job description/person specification. To facilitate and oversee a high quality and efficient Phlebotomy service to the Trust. To provide leadership, supervision and operational management of the Phlebotomy team. To daily manage the in-patient and out-patient Phlebotomy service. Ensuring the quality of the service and working to enhance patient experience of the service. To ensure the Phlebotomists are appropriately trained, subject to regular competency revalidation and where necessary performance managed. To participate in staff governance procedures such as staff recruitment, appraisal and attendance management. To adhere to the Trust policies, procedures and guidelines. Monitor the performance of the service and ensure it meets the needs of the users and patients. To develop the service as required in conjunction with the Care Group Service Manager. To ensure that i) a robust relationship of trust and understanding with patients and other groups and ii) a good public image and perception of the Phlebotomy service is always maintained.
