The opportunity We have a rare opportunity to join our excellent Physiotherapy team at the Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital as a Physiotherapy Assistant as a bank worker to manage our weekend workload As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will: Deliver high quality, effective clinical care under the supervision of our registered physiotherapists on the ward. Promote multi-disciplinary working alongside the other clinicians on the ward and within the hospital Assist in the delivery of pre-operative education Assist with the delivery rehabilitation progression alongside the physiotherapy team Assist in safe discharge planning including organising social services input and home equipment if required Ensure that all clinical records are accurately maintained and conform to all legal requirements Provide administrative assistance, as required, to the department which may include the following tasks - - Answering telephone enquiries - Booking appointments on to the electronic diary - Inputting charges onto the IT system - Photocopying and scanning documents - Distribution of mail. Escort patients within the physiotherapy department and to other departments within the hospital. Greet all visitors and ensure professional and effective communication with all patients, visitors and other clinical staff. Ensure client's confidentiality is maintained at all times. Ensure the department maintains a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all times. Be responsible for reviewing and reporting stock level and supplies to ensure the clinical environment is fit for purpose. To succeed as a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will have: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care and/or Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer or PT level 3 - CIMSPA or Physio in exercise referrals (desired but not essential) Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, ideally in a health care support or therapy assistant role, or community based physical activity programmes Excellent communication skills Leadership & influencing skills Motivational and engaging personality Passion to make a difference Strong organisation skills, with ability to manage time and workload effectively The ability to work collaboratively as a team player and share best practice Competent computer skills Please remember to inform your line manager when making an internal application.
