Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and caring PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a team at an OUTSTANDING SEN school in Warrington. As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with PMLD to achieve their educational and developmental goals. You will work closely with experienced SEN staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with PMLD to facilitate their access to the curriculum and engagement in classroom activities. • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student. • Foster a warm and inclusive classroom atmosphere by promoting understanding and respect among students. • Collaborate closely with teachers and therapists to design and deliver effective strategies for managing complex needs and behaviors. • Assist in planning and organising sensory-friendly activities and sensory integration exercises. • Monitor and document student progress, sharing insights and observations with the teaching team and parents/guardians. • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in working with children with PMLD. As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will have: • Experience working with children with PMLD or in a similar SEN setting is highly desirable. • Knowledge of PMLD and familiarity with evidence-based interventions. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
