Our porters play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hospital by providing a wide range of essential support services. Typical day-to-day responsibilities include: • Transporting patients safely and professionally throughout the hospital using beds, trolleys, and wheelchairs. • Collecting and delivering specimen samples, blood products, and other clinical items to support patient care. • Delivering pharmaceuticals to wards and departments in a timely and secure manner. • Collecting and distributing medical gases across the hospital. • Providing waste collection and disposal services in line with hospital policies and infection prevention standards. • Transporting patient meal trolleys to and from wards. • Delivering clean linen to wards and departments. • Collecting and distributing internal and external mail and postal items. • Assisting with the movement of furniture and hospital equipment as required. • Working closely with the mortuary department, carrying out duties with professionalism, dignity, and respect.
