The post holder will • Contribute to effective communication within the multidisciplinary team. • Participate in nursing and practice meetings as required. • Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement, and governance activities. • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using agreed systems and templates. • Monitor and report stock or equipment issues in line with practice procedures. • Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development. • Work collaboratively to support a safe, effective, and positive working environment. • Participate in research and service development activities where appropriate. Nursing • Skilled in asthma care • Developed understanding of COPD • Experience of hypertension • Accomplished in wound management and implement wound care in line with current evidence-based guidelines and local policies. • Able to perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation according to current UK guidelines. • Offer advice and administer childhood and adult vaccinations under patient group directions according to national immunisation programmes. • Offer health promotion and lifestyle advice on diet, alcohol intake and exercise. • Offer a holistic approach in monitoring patients with chronic diseases according to NICE guidelines • Perform cervical cytology smear tests • Perform venepuncture • Suture/staple removal. • NHS Travel immunisation • Perform ECGs • Able to recognise and manage anaphylaxis according to current UK guidelines. • Ensure infection control and cold chain guidelines are maintained. • Ability to monitor and manage maintenance of stock and equipment to include refrigeration cold chain management and emergency equipment. • Ensures awareness of statutory and local clinical protection procedures, including Safeguarding Children and vulnerable adults. Administration and professional responsibilities • Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the Practice team • Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the Practice team • Maintain confidentiality at all times as per practice policy • Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care and registration with the Practice • Ensure collection and maintenance of statistical information required for regular and ad hoc reports • Attend and participate in nurse meetings as required • Participate in restocking and maintenance of clinical areas and consulting rooms as required. • Order and maintain safe storage of vaccines ensuring that the cold chain is maintained at all times. • Support other clinicians with their training and development needs.
