Randstad Education is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming primary school where every child is encouraged to thrive.
The Role:As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with the class teacher and the school's SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. You'll help to create a positive, nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with additional needs
• Support learning in line with individual education plans (IEPs)
• Assist the class teacher with planning and adapting activities
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
What We're Looking For:
• Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly in a school setting
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
