Job description

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 1 Hours: 8:45am – 11:45am (15 hours per week) We are seeking a caring and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a Year 1 pupil with general Special Educational Needs. Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 support to help the pupil access learning and participate fully in classroom activities. • Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored learning strategies and interventions. • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in lessons. • Support the pupil's social, emotional, and behavioural development. • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs where required. • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO. • Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. Essential Requirements • Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting. • Understanding of Special Educational Needs and inclusive classroom practices. • Patient, nurturing, and supportive approach. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. • Flexible and proactive attitude.
