Lower Primary Teacher
• Annual Salary: To scale + SEN Points
• Location: Rural Horsham
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Start Date: September 2026
Join an outstanding independent SEMH and ASD specialist boys' school that is expanding due to increased pupil numbers. We are seeking a motivated and inspiring Primary Teacher to challenge and support boys with Autism and/or Social and Emotional Mental Health Issues from Reception to Year 2.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Secure high standards of teaching and learning within the classroom.
• Provide a disciplined and stimulating learning environment where all pupils feel safe and can succeed.
• Be highly motivated and enthusiastic about working with pupils with Autism.
• Lead interventions and strategies for ASC/BESD pupils.
• Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a conducive learning environment.
• Monitor, assess, and record student progress, promoting a culture of high expectations.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of schemes of work.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
• Experience in delivering the primary curriculum.
• Proven experience working with children with SEN, ideally with a focus on SEMH.
• Ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire pupils to achieve and succeed.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Must be a driver with access to a vehicle due to the rural location of the school.
