Job description

• Location: Eastleigh • Position: Teaching Assistant • Hours: Full-Time, 5 Days per Week • Start Date: September 2026 • End Date: December 2026 (initial assignment) • Potential Extension: There may be an opportunity for the placement to continue beyond December, depending on the needs of the school and performance within the role. The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a mainstream Infant School setting. While this is not a dedicated SEND role, there may be occasions where you will support children with additional needs as part of your wider classroom responsibilities. Key responsibilities may include: • Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom. • Working with individual pupils and small groups. • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement. • Assisting with classroom preparation and activities. • Providing additional support to pupils who require extra guidance. • Supporting children with SEND needs where required within a mainstream setting. • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. We Are Looking For • Experience working with primary-aged children is desirable. • Previous Teaching Assistant experience is advantageous. • A positive, patient, and proactive approach. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development. • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
