Job description

Role: Civil Principal Contractor Site Manager (PCSM) - National Grid • Location: North London • Duration: 12 months, rolling • Day Rate: £600 - £650 per day (Outside IR35) • Start Date: Immediate / ASAP About the Role We are seeking an experienced Civil PCSM to lead high-voltage substation and infrastructure upgrade projects. You will act as the primary point of contact for site safety, compliance, and delivery, ensuring all works align with strict National Grid standards. Key Responsibilities • Site Leadership: Manage daily civil engineering and construction activities safely. • Compliance: Enforce National Grid SR163 supplier requirements on-site. • Safety: Direct temporary works, excavation safety, and risk assessments. • Coordination: Act as the main liaison between subcontractors and stakeholders. Essential Requirements • Accreditation: Current National Grid SR163 PCSM qualification. • Safety: Valid SMSTS and up-to-date First Aid at Work. • Technical: Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor ticket. • Utility Safety: HSG47 (Underground Services) awareness. • Access: National Grid Competent Person (NSI 8 Full) status.
