Job description

Morgan Hunt are working with a consultancy to recruit a Principal Structural Engineer to join their Edinburgh office. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of building structures projects across multiple sectors, while contributing to the development of a growing team. You will work closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams to lead structural engineering projects from concept through to completion. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the structural design and delivery of projects across a range of sectors, including: • Commercial • Retail • Banking • Education • Distilleries • Energy infrastructure, including substations • Manage projects through all design stages, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards • Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports • Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers • Contribute to business development by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat business What you bring: • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering • Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership • Significant experience in the design and delivery of building structures projects • Experience across a range of sectors such as commercial, retail, education, industrial, distilleries or energy infrastructure would be advantageous • Strong knowledge of UK design standards and current building regulations • Experience using industry-standard structural analysis and design software • Strong communication skills Benefits: • Competitive salary and benefits package • The opportunity to work on a varied and technically challenging portfolio of projects • A collaborative and supportive working environment • Opportunities for career progression and continued professional development • Flexible and hybrid working options • Support towards ongoing professional development and chartership where applicable Please get in touch for further information.
