Production Engineer

CNC Production Engineer UK | Precision Engineering (Motorsport & F1) | Competitive Salary Shorterm Group are working with a leading precision manufacturing business supporting the Motorsport and Formula 1 sectors, recruiting for an experienced CNC Production Engineer. The Role You'll play a key role in bridging engineering, CNC programming, and production, developing efficient machining processes for high-precision components. This is a hands-on position focused on improving quality, reducing cost, and supporting performance on the shop floor in a fast-paced, high-spec environment. Key Responsibilities - Program 3-5 axis CNC machines using NCG, Hypermill or EdgeCAM - Set and optimise Heidenhain-controlled machines, tooling, and cutting strategies - Apply DFM principles to improve manufacturability and reduce cycle times - Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and process improvements - Create work instructions, SOPs, and routing documentation - Lead process capability and continuous improvement initiatives - Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through to production Requirements - Proven experience in high-precision CNC machining (Motorsport/F1/Aerospace desirable) - Strong CNC programming and CAM experience - Good understanding of GD&T, cutting tools, and manufacturing processes - Experience with Heidenhain controls - Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent experience - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Apply If you're looking to work at the cutting edge of Motorsport and F1 precision engineering, apply today or contact Max at Shorterm Group for a confidential conversation.
