Shift Production Manager Leeds based Rail & Rolling Stock Maintenance £63,000 Basic Salary + Excellent Benefits Permanent | Continental Shift Pattern | Flexible Start Date Lead a High-Performing Engineering Team Are you an experienced engineering leader looking for your next challenge? We're recruiting a Shift Production Manager to join our busy rail maintenance depot in Leeds, leading a team responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of freight locomotives. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business where safety, teamwork and engineering excellence are at the heart of everything we do. Working closely with the Depot Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering operational performance, developing your team and ensuring our locomotives are maintained safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. What You'll Be Doing * Leading, motivating and developing a team of approximately 15 skilled engineers and technicians. * Managing the day-to-day maintenance and repair of our freight locomotive fleet. * Supporting the Depot Manager in delivering production targets and maximising fleet availability. * Monitoring engineering performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. * Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with company and industry standards. * Promoting a strong safety culture across the depot. * Deputising for the Depot Manager and other supervisory colleagues when required. * Building positive relationships with colleagues, customers and key stakeholders. What We're Looking For You'll ideally bring: * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline. * At least 3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role. * A minimum of 5 years' experience within a heavy vehicle or engineering maintenance environment. We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds including: * Rail & Rolling Stock * HGV * PSV / Bus & Coach * Armed Forces (REME or equivalent) * Light Vehicle * Mobile Plant * Agricultural Machinery * Heavy Engineering * Other transferable vehicle maintenance sectors You'll also have: * Strong people leadership skills. * Excellent communication and organisational abilities. * A proactive approach to problem-solving. * A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
