Production Manufacturing Operative
Location: Rainham
Salary: £13.78 Hr
Job Type: Dependent on shift pattern (12 Hr Shifts)
Overview and Scope of the Role
As a Production Manufacturing Operative, you will be responsible for operating machinery and producing parts to the required standard, in line with relevant quality ISO standards and cost requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Produce parts at or above the defined rate for each part number, as per the control plan, until the end of the shift regardless of linished quantities.
• Use the relevant testing methods to accurately define the dimensions and physical properties of the parts produced, including Tropel Checks, Flatness Checks, Depth Checks, Visual Checks and SQC.
• Adhere to all requirements specified on control plans.
• Ensure accurate records and documentation within the production cell, including OEE dockets, works orders, timesheets, clean-down dockets and Pareto records.
• Organise stock placement to avoid cross-contamination of parts.
• Attend wheel dressing when required.
• Assist with packing duties.
• Ensure the work area is well organised, clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, Environmental Protection requirements and company rules.
• Ensure quality systems and procedures are followed at all times.
• Effectively communicate with team members and other appropriate staff within the company.
• Be aware of customer requirements.
• Carry out any duties in support of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as defined in Section 1.5 of the EMS Manual.
• Ensure compliance with all company rules.
• Carry out any other duties as reasonably required by management.
Health & Safety
You will be responsible for maintaining safe working practices, both when working independently and as part of a team, across all areas of the factory/site.
You must comply with all statutory regulations and Health & Safety requirements. You should be able to carry out work with minimal supervision, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
If you have any doubts about the environmental impact of any task, it is your responsibility to stop work immediately and agree on a suitable procedure with your manager before continuing.
Person Specification
• Experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eye for quality and attention to detail.
• Computer literate.
• Self-motivated, well presented, personable, adaptable, flexible and a team player.
• Offers ideas for improving processes.
• Visually aware of customer requirements.
• Organised with the ability to work under pressure.
