Professional Support Lawyer – Private Wealth & Inheritance team
• Annual Salary: £75k - £85k with a bespoke Bonus Scheme
• Location: Blackwater Valley, on the Surrey & Hampshire Borders!
• Job Type: Full-time (Also open to part-time applicants and/or compressed hour applicants for this role)

We are seeking a Professional Support Lawyer to play a strategic role in shaping technical excellence and driving consistency in legal delivery across a broad range of matters including wills, trusts, estate planning, and contentious probate.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Knowledge Management & Technical Support:
• Draft, maintain, and develop precedents, templates, and guidance notes.
• Manage and enhance the team’s know-how repository.
• Provide legal research and technical support on complex matters.
• Act as a key sounding board on trusts, estates, and contentious probate issues.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, including tax and probate reforms, and share updates.
• Promote consistency in legal drafting and approach across the team.
• Training & Development:
• Identify and address training needs within the team.
• Design and deliver training programmes and legal updates.
• Support trainee development and induction.
• Develop and manage the team’s Learning & Development plan.
• Keep colleagues informed on legislative and procedural changes.
• Business Development & Client Engagement:
• Support client briefings, seminars, and events.
• Contribute to pitches, proposals, and marketing materials.
• Develop thought leadership and legal insights.
• Assist with client-facing training initiatives.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
• Support the team’s innovation strategy.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes (e.g., probate and trust administration workflows).
• Promote effective use of legal technology and knowledge systems.
• Champion a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Collaboration & Strategy:
• Work closely with the Private Wealth team and wider firm knowledge network.
• Collaborate with other practice areas including tax, property, and dispute resolution.
• Support departmental strategy and knowledge initiatives.
• Encourage integration between contentious and non-contentious teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 6+ PQE in Private Client law.
• Current PSL/Knowledge Lawyer or an experienced fee earner seeking a transition.
• Strong expertise in wills, trusts, estate planning, and contentious probate.
• Experience in Court of Protection and trust administration (desirable).
• Excellent legal drafting, research, and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Commercially aware with a strong understanding of client needs.
• Proactive, collaborative, and passionate about knowledge sharing.
