Project Design Engineer

Sheffield (UK) | Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist engineering and project delivery business to recruit an experienced Project Manager (Engineering Projects) with a strong project engineering / design background. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation that delivers bespoke engineered solutions into a range of process-led industries. The role: This is a hands-on Project Design Engineer/Project Manager position with full lifecycle responsibility. You will take ownership of projects from initial customer engagement through to delivery and installation, playing a key role in driving project standards and improving delivery processes. You’ll work closely with internal engineering and production teams, as well as an existing Project Engineer, with the opportunity to mentor and support the growth of a wider project function over time. Key Responsibilities: • Manage engineering projects from concept through to completion • Act as the key interface between customers, engineering, and manufacturing teams across multiple sites • Deliver bespoke engineered equipment and process-based projects • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and support manufacturing liaison across European facilities • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality and regulatory standards • Support continuous improvement of project delivery processes and documentation • Contribute to commercial activities including customer engagement, proposals, and winning new business • Mentor and develop junior team members, with scope to help build a project team About you: • Proven experience in project management within an engineering or manufacturing environment • Strong technical background (mechanical, process, or industrial engineering preferred) • Experience delivering engineered or capital equipment projects • Comfortable operating in an SME environment with autonomy and visibility • Commercially aware, with the ability to support customer discussions and project delivery • Motivated by growth and keen to play a role in shaping project delivery within a developing business • Occasional European travel required to support manufacturing, testing, and project activities • Flexibility to support key project phases, including occasional weekend work when require Opportunity Overview: • Join a business on an exciting growth journey • Work within a collaborative, “family feel” environment • Play a key role in shaping how projects are delivered • Gain exposure to international engineering and manufacturing operations Please reach out to Jack Heffren or Steve Barnett at Elevation Recruitment for more information and apply now!
