Job Title – Project Engineering Manager
Location: Nailsea, UK
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project EFAT Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Engineering Factory Acceptance Testing (EFAT) activities across multiple projects and product lines. In this role, you will oversee the Reference EFAT Testing facilities, ensuring optimal utilization to de-risk project execution while delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
Working closely with Project Delivery Managers (PDMs) and cross-functional engineering teams, you will be responsible for driving integration, technical excellence, and project delivery while ensuring contractual, schedule, quality, and cost objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate Project EFAT planning and execution across multiple projects and engineering product lines.
• Manage the Reference EFAT Testing facilities, ensuring efficient resource utilization and testing readiness.
• Deliver engineering scope in line with contractual requirements, project milestones, budgets, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration, planning, and execution.
• Support EFAT teams through project meetings, design reviews, work package reviews, and technical guidance.
• Mentor and develop engineering testing teams to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with customer contracts, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal engineering processes.
• Develop and manage EFAT budgets, schedules, and resource plans while identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Monitor project costs, manage risks, resolve delays, and maintain high-quality delivery standards.
• Act as the primary point of contact for EFAT testing activities across engineering product lines, regional teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Materials Planning teams to ensure resources and equipment are available to support site-wide EFAT activities.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution and testing performance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in Project Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Testing, or Process Improvement.
• Previous experience leading or coordinating engineering projects within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong understanding of Engineering Factory Acceptance Testing (EFAT) or similar testing and commissioning activities.
• Proven experience managing engineering budgets, schedules, project planning, and resource allocation.
• Ability to manage technical interfaces, engineering risks, project changes, and stakeholder expectations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using engineering and project performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across global engineering teams.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor technical teams and drive delivery excellence.
Preferred Skills
• Experience working within the Oil & Gas, Energy, Industrial Automation, or Subsea Engineering sectors.
• Knowledge of engineering project lifecycle, systems integration, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Familiarity with engineering quality standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement methodologies.
