Job description
We are seeking an experienced finance professional to support the financial management, reporting and control of a portfolio of grant-funded projects. (This Requires an immediate start for 2 months minimum.) Working closely with project managers and grant leads, you will ensure funding is managed effectively, donor requirements are met, and project stakeholders have the financial insight needed to make informed decisions.
This role combines financial control, project reporting, business partnering and financial analysis, making it ideal for a Management Accountant, Project Accountant, Grants Accountant or Finance Business Partner looking to play a key role in a project-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain financial controls and review project transactions to ensure compliance with donor and organisational requirements.
• Prepare and review project fund statements, reconciliations, accruals, and financial adjustments.
• Produce monthly and quarterly budget vs actual reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Provide regular spend updates and financial insight to project managers and grant leads.
• Support project teams with budgeting, reforecasting, and financial decision-making.
• Ensure grants are utilised in line with contractual obligations and donor requirements.
• Develop and improve reporting tools and templates.
• Produce consolidated portfolio reporting, identifying financial risks, trends, and performance indicators.
Ideal Background
• Management Accountant, Project Accountant, Grants Accountant, or Finance Business Partner. (Part Qualified)
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and stakeholder management.
• Experience within grant-funded, charity, NGO, research, or project-based environments would be advantageous.
