Job description

Proofreader – Property Reports (RICS Homebuyer and Disrepair Reports) Contract – Minimum 6 months Join a Surveying Company That's Doing Things Differently. We're not your typical surveying practice. We're a fast-growing nationwide team of Regulated Building Surveyors who believe professional doesn't have to mean boring. We work hard, care about quality, embrace technology and genuinely enjoy what we do. Our mission is simple: produce outstanding survey reports that are clear, practical and genuinely useful for our clients. Every report leaving our business represents our reputation, which is why we're looking for someone with an eagle eye for detail to join our quality team. If spotting the missing comma, inconsistent condition rating or awkward sentence gives you an unreasonable amount of satisfaction, you'll probably love working with us. The Role You'll be the final pair of eyes before our Homebuyer Reports reach clients. Working remotely and with complete flexibility, you'll help ensure every report is polished, professional and consistent with our high standards. You'll work alongside experienced Surveyors who genuinely value feedback and quality, helping us deliver reports we're proud to put our name to. What You'll Be Doing: • Proofreading Homebuyer Reports before they're issued. • Correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation and formatting. • Improving clarity and readability where appropriate. • Checking consistency throughout each report. • Spotting contradictions, omissions and anything that doesn't quite add up. • Ensuring recommendations and condition ratings align. • Flagging anything that needs the Surveyor's attention. • Helping us maintain an exceptional customer experience. We'd Love to Hear From You If You: • Have exceptional written English. • Notice the tiny details that everyone else misses. • Enjoy making documents read beautifully. • Can work independently and manage your own workload. • Are organised, reliable and take real pride in your work. Bonus Points If You Have: • Experience proofreading survey reports. • Knowledge of residential property or construction. • Experience with RICS Homebuyer or Level 2 reports. • A background in surveying, architecture, engineering or property. • Strong Microsoft Word skills. What You'll Get: • Remote working from anywhere in the UK. • Flexible freelance or part-time hours. • Competitive pay. • Regular ongoing work. • A friendly, supportive team who genuinely enjoy what they do. • The opportunity to help shape one of the UK's fastest-growing regulated surveying businesses. A Little About Us We believe great businesses are built by great people. There's no unnecessary hierarchy, no micromanagement and no corporate nonsense. We trust our team, value ideas and believe work should be enjoyable as well as rewarding. We're ambitious, we move quickly and we're always looking for talented people who care about quality as much as we do. If that sounds like your kind of company, we'd love to hear from you.
