Location: West London Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Pattern: 5 days per week office-based | 9:30am - 5:30pm About the Opportunity An established and growing property investment and development business is seeking an experienced Property Bookkeeper to join its finance team. The organisation manages a diverse UK-wide property portfolio and offers a stable, professional environment for an accounting professional looking to further develop their career within the property sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong property accounting experience, particularly within property management and block management accounting, who enjoys working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The Role The Property Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across a varied property portfolio, supporting day-to-day finance operations, managing supplier payments, and assisting with the administration of property and block management accounts. Key Responsibilities • Receive, review and process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Code and enter invoices into the accounting system, allocating costs to the correct accounts and cost centres. • Update daily banking transactions within the cashbook and accounting software. • Process purchase-related financial data accurately and efficiently. • Prepare and manage payment runs in accordance with agreed payment schedules. • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers and internal stakeholders. • Maintain accurate supplier records, including payment terms and contact details. • Respond to supplier queries and resolve payment-related issues in a professional manner. • Assist with month-end processes, including bank reconciliations and financial reporting. • Support audit and compliance requirements by providing relevant financial information and documentation. • Set up and maintain client, property, unit and tenant records. • Manage rent schedules, rent reviews, lease information and tenant charge updates. • Process tenancy terminations, lease assignments and new tenancy agreements. • Generate and issue rent demands within required deadlines. • Prepare and maintain block management accounts. • Undertake general administrative duties including filing, archiving and document management. About You The successful candidate will have previous experience within property accounting or bookkeeping and be confident managing a varied workload with excellent attention to detail. Skills & Experience Required • Minimum of 7 years' experience within bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or property management accounting. • Previous experience managing property accounts and/or block management accounts. • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, reconciliations and financial administration. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. • Experience using property management systems such as Tramps and/or Bluebox would be highly advantageous. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong organisational and time-management skills. • Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. • Professional, proactive and solution-focused approach.
