Job description

Reed has partnered with a thriving and rapidly growing business based in South Ribble to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant. Following a period of sustained growth, the company is looking to strengthen its finance team with an enthusiastic individual who can quickly become a valuable member of the department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous accounts experience who is keen to develop their career within a supportive and friendly environment. The successful candidate will join a down-to-earth, collaborative team that offers exposure to wider finance functions and ongoing development opportunities. Key Responsibilities • Acting as the first point of contact for purchase ledger telephone enquiries • Reviewing supplier invoices and querying pricing discrepancies where required • Matching delivery notes against supplier invoices, ensuring quantities and dates are accurate • Liaising with internal departments to resolve pricing and delivery queries • Processing supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently • Chasing outstanding payments when necessary • Issuing and reconciling monthly supplier statements • Providing administrative support to the Finance Manager • Assisting with additional finance duties as required Skills & Experience Required • Previous experience within an accounts or finance department • Strong administrative and IT skills • Experience using Sage 50 is advantageous • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy • Confident and professional telephone manner • Positive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and develop • Strong organisational and communication skills Salary & Benefits • Competitive salary of up to £30,000, depending on experience • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays • Early finish every Friday • Company pension scheme • Free on-site parking • Opportunity to gain exposure across wider finance functions within a growing business If you're looking for a role where you can build upon your accounts experience, develop your skills and become part of a welcoming finance team, we'd love to hear from you.
