GCSE Science Tutor Job Details Do you enjoy helping students unlock their potential in Science? We're looking for GCSE Science Tutors to support children and young people across the BCP area through personalised 1:1 tuition. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support vulnerable learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have experienced barriers to learning and benefit from tailored support that helps them reconnect with education, increase their confidence, and prepare for GCSE success. This is a flexible opportunity that allows you to use your educational experience to make a real impact on a student's academic journey. • Location: BCP • Subject: GCSE Science • Hours: Flexible • Start Date: September • Type: 1:1 Tuition • Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour Requirements • Minimum 6 months' experience working in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistance, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles • Strong Science subject knowledge • Ability to deliver engaging and personalised GCSE Science sessions • Experience supporting learners with SEND is desirable • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills • Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one • Access to a vehicle is beneficial; alternatively, willingness to travel within your local area Who You'll Support You may work with learners who have a range of additional needs, including: • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs • ADHD • Anxiety and school avoidance • EHCPs and other identified educational needs Every placement is different, requiring an individualised approach that focuses on engagement, confidence-building, and educational progress.
