Job description

Our client Kent county council is looking for a Qualified Social worker to join their Adolescent support team. Job Purpose: • To deliver and improve services for Children in Need, with a clear focus on those in need of protection and the wider safeguarding agenda through the provision of high quality social work interventions and effective liaison with local partners. • To work within a team of professional Social Workers and/or early intervention staff to provide services to children, young people and their families requiring support and/or intervention. • Services are to be delivered in accordance with legislation, Corporate and Directorate policies and with allocated cash limits. • To be a champion of social work values and delivering interventions that work to keep children safe and to support families. • As a large and diverse county, we offer an unrivalled range of work and settings - all with their own challenges. Main duties and responsibilities: • You will be a DIPSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent Social Work graduate. • You will manage a caseload of complex and difficult cases, involving assessment, planning and implementation of support, ensuring the best outcomes for children are realised. Often you will utilise crisis intervention or solution focussed and strengths based approaches to empower young people and their families. • You will build up good relationships with the young people you work with (aged 11 - 18) to ensure that you hear their voice and understand their lived experience. Alongside this, you will need to use negotiation skills advocate for them to ensure that wherever possible they remain within their family network. • You will work closely with 16/17 year old young people who present as homeless and rapidly respond to ensure early and effective intervention to prevent homelessness. • You will draw on your social work intervention skills to prevent young people from unnecessarily entering the care system. • You will be responsible for chairing Child In Need meetings, Co ordinating support, completing Joint Housing Assessments with District Councils, and supporting young people to attend interviews and meetings in accordance with their support needs. • You will work collaboratively with a range of innovative services and partners such as CAMHS, Education, YOT, Police, Housing, and Local Housing Providers to reduce the likelihood of harm and promote good life outcomes. • You will promote and actively utilise holistic and whole family approaches to achieve best social work practice, using evidence based practice to exemplify this standard Benefits of working with Remedy • A personal one-one service from your highly experienced dedicated consultant. • Top tier supplier across London giving us first access to jobs • Referral bonus - up to £250* per person placed. • Double payrolls each week. *Terms & Conditions apply You will be required to fully register with Remedy for all locum positions.
