Location: Bristow's of Devon, Marsh Lane, Crediton, EX17 1ET
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Permanent – 40 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:15am – 3:00pm

We're looking for an experienced Quality Controller to join our friendly team at Bristow's of Devon in Crediton.

From our famous handmade fudge to traditional bon bons and nostalgic hard-boiled sweets, quality is at the heart of everything we do.

What You'll Be Doing
As our Quality Controller, you'll support our production teams by ensuring all products meet food safety, legal and quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Carrying out daily quality assurance checks and temperature verifications.
• Monitoring production standards in line with company expectations.
• Completing weekly GMP audits and reporting trends.
• Conducting environmental swabbing and water sampling in line with schedules.
• Sampling and inspecting raw materials, packaging and finished products.
• Maintaining food safety, quality and production documentation.
• Investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• Managing quarantine and rejection processes for non-conforming products.
• Organising weekly product tasting sessions and leading quality review meetings.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting the Head of Technical.
• Acting as deputy for the Head of Technical when required.
• Supporting the wider Technical team with additional duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
• At least 1 year's Quality Assurance experience within the food industry.
• Minimum Level 2 HACCP qualification.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
• Level 3 HACCP or Food Safety qualification.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
