Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a leading manufacturing business in Scunthorpe as they look to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their Building Products division. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys combining hands-on quality assurance with team leadership and continuous improvement. Working closely with Production, Maintenance and the Process & Site Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring products consistently meet the highest quality standards while driving improvements across the manufacturing operation. As Quality Engineer, you'll take ownership of day-to-day quality activities across the manufacturing facility, supporting laboratory testing, leading quality investigations and helping to develop a proactive quality culture. You'll also provide guidance to Quality Technicians and act as a deputy to the Process & Site Compliance Manager when required. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to influence quality performance, support customer requirements and contribute to ongoing business improvement initiatives. Key duties & responsibilities: • Coordinate daily quality activities and support the Quality Technician team • Carry out and oversee laboratory testing including tensile, FTIR, MFI, DSC, heat ageing, reversion, ring stiffness and raw material testing • Conduct regular production line audits, identifying and resolving quality issues • Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints and root causes, implementing effective corrective actions • Produce quality reports, analyse trends and communicate findings across the business • Maintain calibration schedules and ensure all laboratory equipment remains compliant • Support ISO 9001 compliance through robust documentation and adherence to quality procedures • Work collaboratively with Production and Maintenance to improve product quality and reduce repeat issues • Coordinate BSI Kitemark testing, including sample selection, documentation and submission • Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing • Deliver training and coaching on quality standards, testing methods and best practice • Ensure traceability, stock checks and raw material verification processes are maintained • Represent the business during customer visits and technical discussions when required • Provide cover for the Process & Site Compliance Manager in their absence I'm keen to speak to Quality Technician's/Engineers with the following skillset: We're looking for an experienced manufacturing quality professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and working collaboratively across production environments. You'll ideally have: • Previous experience within a Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisor or similar manufacturing quality role • Experience investigating quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques • Good knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems • Experience supervising, mentoring or coaching colleagues • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage across all levels of the business • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and quality data management systems • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement • Career development opportunities within a successful manufacturing organisation
