Job description

Morson is partnering with a leading aerospace manufacturer seeking a Quality Inspector to join their team at the Portsmouth site. Role Overview Ensure compliance with production and test operations within the Cleanroom, adhering to Plans, Processes, and Procedures for the manufacture of Space Equipment in accordance with approved quality standards, specifically ECSS-Q-ST-, or ECSS-Q-ST-70-61. Take ownership and accountability for the accurate validation of "as built as designed" configurations. Oversee environmental and Health & Safety controls for assembly, integration, and test activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Provide support for Key Inspection Points (KIPs) during physical inspections, as required. Key Responsibilities • Promote a quality-first culture across production operations to prevent non-conformities within the Cleanroom environment. • Monitor and maintain world-class workmanship standards, Cleanroom practises, and processes. • Conduct design and integrity verification inspections on Flight Hardware and Test setups, following D&S inspection criteria and ECSS-Q-ST-, or ECSS-Q-ST-70-61 standards, ensuring full compliance with design and quality requirements. • Identify, document, and investigate non-conformities in partnership with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Assurance, and M&P / Process Owners. • Support root cause analysis of quality issues with Project Quality teams to prevent recurrence. • Perform internal audits of Cleanroom activities as directed by the Equipment Quality group. • Complete Quality Verification Plan (QVP) checks as instructed by Equipment Quality Assurance. • Participate in Key Inspection Points (KIPs) during physical inspections. • Assist with specific operational tasks such as critical moves, Ready for Test processes, and flight packing. • Foster a strong Health and Safety and 5S culture within the Cleanroom, ensuring compliance from all operators and visitors. • Maintain a safe and compliant Cleanroom environment, proactively mitigating risks in line with Health & Safety policies. • Review documentation thoroughly, ensure completion of paperwork, and approve reworks where necessary. • Effectively manage and control quarantined equipment.
