Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a leading global manufacturing organisation in the search for a Plant Quality Lead to join their Birmingham-based operation. This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape quality strategy, drive continuous improvement, and lead a team of Quality Engineers within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring customer expectations, operational excellence, and quality standards are consistently achieved. As Plant Quality Lead, you will be a key member of the Plant Senior Management Team, responsible for leading all plant-based quality assurance activities and championing a culture of quality throughout the business. You will oversee a team of six direct reports, driving quality performance, customer satisfaction, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the plant Quality Engineering team, providing coaching, development, and performance management. • Partner with operational and engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and embedded within manufacturing processes. • Drive continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS). • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of APQP and PPAP methodologies, including revalidation activities. • Review and approve 8D investigations, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed. • Lead customer escape and near-miss investigations, driving robust containment and prevention measures. • Lead customer visits, audits, and quality reviews. • Facilitate cross-functional quality meetings and management-level Gemba walks. • Support site-wide quality engagement initiatives and help foster a strong quality culture. • Deputise for the Head of Quality when required.
