Quantity Surveyor
North East England (Hybrid Working Available - office ashington or durham)
£52,621 per annum (inclusive of car allowance)
Permanent | Full-Time (37 hours per week)
Our client, a well-established and highly respected social housing provider in the North East, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Asset & Property team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering significant planned investment programmes and helping to maximise the value of residential assets and communities.
The Opportunity
Working closely with commercial, construction and asset management teams, you will be responsible for the day-to-day quantity surveying function across a range of planned investment and property improvement projects. You will help ensure robust commercial control, contract compliance and value-for-money delivery while supporting the successful execution of major capital works programmes.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver quantity surveying and contract administration activities, including valuations, certifications, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor contract performance, completions, cashflow and budget expenditure.
• Support tendering processes, pricing schedules and procurement activities.
• Attend site inspections and project meetings to assess progress and commercial performance.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks.
• Drive efficiency improvements and maximise value for money across projects.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors and consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
About You
We are looking for a commercially astute professional who can demonstrate:
• Chartered status, relevant degree qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong experience in quantity surveying within the construction or property sector.
• Proven track record in contract administration, procurement and budget management.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and project data.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
Desirable
• Experience working as a client-side Quantity Surveyor.
• Knowledge of housing sector asset investment programmes.
• Understanding of emerging regulatory requirements within housing and construction.
