The NIHR Leeds BRC is helping to improve health and wellbeing by accelerating diagnosis, enabling earlier and more personalised treatment, and, where possible, preventing disease and infection. Through pioneering research across musculoskeletal disease, cardiometabolic disease, surgical technologies, haematology, pathology, and antimicrobial resistance, the BRC is addressing some of the most significant healthcare challenges facing an ageing and increasingly multi-morbid population. As a Radiographer Assistant, you will support the delivery of MRI and ultrasound research studies within a dedicated state-of-the-art imaging facility, working closely with radiographers, researchers and clinical teams to provide an excellent experience for research participants. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and patient-focused individual who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team and is keen to contribute to research that has the potential to improve patient care and outcomes both locally and nationally. What you will bring to the role This is a varied and rewarding opportunity within the NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Imaging Team, supporting the delivery of high-quality MRI and ultrasound imaging services within a dedicated research environment. Key aspects of the role include: • Supporting MRI and ultrasound imaging services within a state-of-the-art research facility. • Working alongside radiographers, sonographers, researchers and clinicians as part of a multidisciplinary team. • Assisting with the preparation, support and care of research participants attending for imaging procedures. • Providing clinical and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the imaging service. • Contributing to imaging-related research activities that support innovative healthcare research programmes. • Supporting MRI safety processes and maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. • Assisting with quality assurance activities and equipment monitoring. • Communicating effectively and compassionately with patients throughout their visit. • Developing knowledge and experience within a specialist research imaging environment. • Playing a key role in maintaining high standards of patient-centred care and service delivery.
