Knowledge, Training, Experience and Skills Required • Significant post-registration experience in General Radiography. • Experience working independently within an MRI service. • Experience of cross-sectional imaging workflows.- Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams.- Experience with RIS/PACS systems. • Excellent understanding of MRI safety principles. • Comprehensive knowledge of radiation protection legislation. • Understanding of IR(ME)R and professional standards. • Knowledge of infection prevention and patient safety principles. • Understanding of clinical governance and quality assurance. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities. • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions. Main Duties and Responsibilities • Participate in weekend, evening and on-call rotas where required. • Support service development and implementation of new imaging techniques. • Assist in achieving departmental performance targets and patient access standards. • Promote excellent patient experience and continuous service improvement. • Perform a comprehensive range of General Radiography examinations to a consistently high standard. • Undertake MRI examinations in accordance with departmental protocols, safety standards, and referral criteria. • Assess imaging requests to ensure examinations are appropriate and justified. • Adapt imaging techniques to meet individual patient needs while maintaining diagnostic image quality. • Recognise significant or unexpected findings and escalate appropriately in accordance with departmental policy. • Ensure compliance with MRI safety screening procedures and maintain a safe MRI environment. • Administer intravenous contrast media where appropriately trained and authorised. • Cannulate patients where competency has been achieved. • Participate in imaging of emergency inpatient and outpatient cases as required. • Support specialist imaging procedures where appropriate.
