Main
Purposes of the job:-
• Handling of Patient enquiries and
requests courteously and efficiently.
• Efficient record keeping.
• Ensuring, Reception area / Admin
room are kept tidy at all times.
Main
Duties:-
• Restoring telephone services to
normal daytime use at start of the day.
• Answer, document as appropriate
and forward any incoming phone calls whilst providing basic information
when required.
• Ensuring all post / deliveries /
couriers are dealt with appropriately.
• Receiving and routing Patients /
Visitors on arrival.
• Answering general enquiries,
making new and follow up appointments for patients.
• Receiving and recording requests
for home visits.
• Keeping the waiting area tidy,
and perform routine checks as required.
• Ensuring that information about
any unresolved or outstanding matters are passed on to the next shift.
• Dealing with requests for repeat
prescriptions accordingly.
• Ensuring that blood forms are
printed as necessary.
• Opportunistic screening (smoking
status)
• Perform other clerical /
administration duties such as Tasks, Filing, Photocopying, Faxing as
appropriate.
• Ensuring answerphone message is
recorded and activated at end of shift.
• Update waiting room information
and display details of any current or upcoming campaigns (where
appropriate)
• Keeping all areas of the Practice
tidy and free from obstructions
• Providing refreshments as
required.
• Maintain confidentiality at all
times.
• Any other duties as appropriate
requested by the GP / Reception Team Leaders or Practice Manager.
