As part of the team, you'll already know that we handle and process 750,000 tonnes of waste each year, making us the second largest waste contract in the UK. Together, we generate enough energy from waste to power around 80,000 homes annually and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres. This is only possible thanks to the dedication of our people, who make a real difference every day. About the role We have anew opportunity for a Site Operative position who will be based at our Recycling Site in Edmonton, North London. Working as part of a new team at our new Reuse and Recycling Centre at the EcoPark in North London, you will have a strong customer service background and will act as the first point of contact to the public, providing a professional service by giving advice, direction, and assistance, ensuring that waste is received and deposited correctly. Responsibilities: Operations • Delivering a consistent high level of customer service, working to the company standards and contract requirements. • Assisting members of public, where safe and appropriate to do so, and overseeing the sorting and safe disposal of customers waste and recycling materials. • Advising on the correct segregation of waste and recycling into relevant containers / storage areas. • Monitoring and directing traffic movements within the facility. · Carry out general site duties including housekeeping of site grounds, buildings and staff facilities. • Operate the site in line with current company policies and procedures Requirements • Reliable and punctual • Able to work as part of a team. • Flexible approach may be required to learn other roles within the site to ensure effective operating procedures. • Must be willing to learn operations and undergo appropriate training. • Be able to work shift in a pattern (including some weekends) • Previous customer experience would be desirable. • Working in a similar role is desirable • Health and Safety awareness training Benefits • Private Medical & Life Insurance • Company Pension Scheme • Annual Leave Package • Employee Recognition Scheme • Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) • + Many more benefits Early application is encouraged as we will review applications throughout the advertising period and reserve the right to close the advert early.
