The Registered Manager holds overall accountability for the safe, compliant, effective and sustainable operation of the Ilkeston and Long Eaton homecare service. The post holder will provide strategic, operational and day-to-day leadership across quality, safeguarding, people, culture, client experience, regulatory compliance, service performance and growth. The Registered Manager will ensure the service meets CQC Fundamental Standards, Avanti policies and all relevant legal and contractual requirements. They will lead an established service supporting approximately 100 clients and 50 carers, with support from an office team that includes a Care Quality Manager and Senior Care Coordinator. This is a senior branch leadership role. It requires strong judgement, visible people leadership, regulatory credibility and the ability to convert data, feedback and operational evidence into sustained improvement. The Registered Manager: • holds overall accountability for the branch and regulated activity; • applies for and maintains CQC Registered Manager status; • leads branch quality, safeguarding, people, culture and operational performance; • ensures effective governance and regulatory compliance; • establishes clear accountability across the management and office team; • makes final branch-level decisions within delegated organisational authority; and • represents Avanti with commissioners, professionals, regulators and community partners. • Apply to CQC for Registered Manager status and maintain registration. • Accept accountability for the safe and compliant management of the regulated activity. • Ensure the service meets CQC Fundamental Standards and all relevant regulatory requirements. • Maintain effective governance systems and a clear audit trail of decisions, actions and improvements. • Lead preparation for CQC inspections and other external reviews. • Respond promptly and effectively to regulatory findings, feedback and required actions. • Ensure policies, procedures, risk controls and business-continuity arrangements are current and understood. • Maintain oversight of medication, infection prevention and control, health and safety, safeguarding, data protection and clinical competency. • Produce accurate management information for senior leadership. • Ensure actions arising from audits, incidents, complaints and feedback are completed and tested for effectiveness. • Set clear priorities and direction for the branch. • Provide visible and accessible leadership to the office and care teams. • Establish clear accountability across the Deputy Manager, Care Quality Manager, Senior Care Coordinator, Care Coordinator and other colleagues. • Ensure the branch operates safely, efficiently and within agreed resources. • Allocate resources based on client need, workforce capacity and service risk. • Monitor branch performance and intervene early when standards or delivery decline. • Build operational stability and reduce avoidable reactive working. • Support sustainable growth while protecting quality and staff wellbeing. • Deputise across services or support wider organisational priorities when reasonably required. • Lead, retain and develop a capable multidisciplinary team. • Create a culture combining compassion, psychological monthly and quarterly audits. • Review care records, eMAR evidence, observations, spot checks, client feedback and other quality information. • Use data and evidence to identify trends, risks and oversight of invoicing, payroll checks and expenditure. • Monitor rota efficiency, continuity of care and workforce deployment. • Review management information including delivered hours, utilisation, client satisfaction, turnover, absence and quality indicators. • Work with senior colleagues to address performance or capacity risks. • Contribute to business growth through referrals, tenders, commissioner relationships and service development. • Ensure growth decisions are safe, sustainable and supported by appropriate workforce capacity. • Balance client outcomes, staff wellbeing, quality and financial responsibility. • Represent Avanti professionally with commissioners, local authorities, healthcare professionals and community partners. • Build effective working relationships with GPs, district nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and other stakeholders. • Attend multidisciplinary and strategic meetings where required. • Communicate with authority, accuracy and professionalism. • Protect Avantis reputation through transparent and responsible leadership. • Use digital care-planning, rota, HR and management-information systems effectively. • Ensure records are
