About the Role Every journey matters. Make a real difference as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. We are a trusted provider of secure patient transport, mental health support and complex care services across the UK. Our teams work in partnership with the NHS, police, private healthcare providers, prisons and courts to deliver safe, dignified care for people in vulnerable situations. This includes secure mental health transfers, hospital bedwatch and care in places of safety. As a Registered Mental Health Nurse you will lead and support patient transfers, ensuring safety, dignity and the highest standards of care throughout the journey. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, provide crisis intervention when needed, and be a calm, reassuring presence for those in your care. Job Opportunity In this role you will be responsible for leading patient transfers, ensuring safe, professional and compassionate care at every stage. You will use your clinical expertise to assess, plan and deliver care, while also managing and supporting colleagues during complex situations. You will * Provide high quality, evidence based mental health nursing care * Lead the team throughout the patient transfer process, ensuring clear communication and effective teamwork * Conduct thorough handovers, including risk history and current presentation, to maintain continuity of care * Deliver crisis intervention for patients experiencing acute mental health difficulties * Ensure all safeguarding responsibilities for children and adults are met in line with national and local policies * Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, using your training and judgement to ensure patient and staff safety * Attend all mandatory training, meetings and reviews to maintain professional competence * Complete accurate records and reports, ensuring they meet both clinical and organisational standards * Build positive, respectful relationships with patients, colleagues and partner agencies * Carry out vehicle and equipment checks before journeys and report any issues promptly Essential Skills Mandatory: * Current valid NMC PIN as a Registered Mental Health Nurse * Minimum 18 months post qualification experience * Enhanced DBS clearance for both adults and children * Full UK driving licence covering both manual and automatic vehicles with 6 or fewer points * Right to work in the UK Desirable: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy * Proactive, positive and able to work independently or as part of a team * Well organised with good time management skills * Experience in a compliance focused role * Update Service registration for Enhanced DBS Job description Job responsibilities About the Role Every journey matters.
