Job description

• Assist in the delivery of pulmonary rehabilitation exercise programmes under the direction of qualified clinicians. • Prepare and set up equipment for exercise classes and patient assessments. • Monitor patients during exercise sessions, recording observations such as oxygen saturation levels, heart rate, breathlessness scores, and exercise performance. • Escalate concerns regarding patient health, deterioration, or safeguarding issues to the supervising clinician. • Provide encouragement and motivation to patients to support adherence to rehabilitation programmes. • Support patients in performing prescribed exercises safely and effectively. • Assist with individual and group education sessions covering topics such as breathlessness management, inhaler technique, energy conservation, smoking cessation, and healthy lifestyles. • Support the collection of outcome measures including walking tests, questionnaires, and exercise assessments. • Maintain infection prevention and control standards within all clinical environments.
