The post is a for aConsultant Physician role (8 Programmed Activities) , at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, working across all parts of the rehabilitation service including the newly opening national rehabilitation centre in Loughborough.
This is a very exciting time to join specialist rehabilitation in the East Midlands. The NRC is in its advanced stages and will open to patients in Summer 2026. This is a ground-breaking 70 bed facility for NHS patients based alongside and closely connected to the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Stanford Hall. The NRC will host a national training and education centre and a research and innovation hub. Together with our academic partners, the NRC will set a new standard for rehabilitation[MD1] and a blueprint for the future.
NUH has an ambition to create a wider rehabilitation service for our patient population. Our current consultants have great opportunities to work across our tertiary centre for Major Trauma and Neurosurgery, and with an increasing number of patients with complex neurodisability and/or musculoskeletal disability require medical rehabilitation input throughout their care journey. Successful candidates will join the team to work within, and between multi-disciplinary teams so as to ensure that the very best rehabilitation care can be delivered.
We need forward-thinking, ambitious consultants whose skills and ideas will help us to deliver our plans and to thus shape the future of rehabilitation medicine in the East Midlands and nationwide.
