Remote Part Time Bookkeeper

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper with at least 3 years’ experience (or more) of general bookkeeping and VAT experience currently working in a good quality accountancy practice firm? Are you looking to work part time (2 to 3 days a week) in a fully remote position? Are you looking to utilise your experience of Xero software and work for a wide variety of SME clients? Based in a small yet growing and very friendly practice, your role will be bookkeeping and VAT return based, with the potential to help out with other duties such as assisting with statutory accounts preparations and personal tax returns in January. Specific responsibilities include: managing all bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients using Xero, process sales and purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and correct VAT treatment, perform bank, credit card, and payment-platform reconciliations, maintain well-organised financial records, ensuring all documentation is correctly filed and linked within the software, assisting with VAT returns, supporting the accountants during year-end processes by providing accurate schedules and reconciled balances, communicate with clients and help to build relationships and to maintaining and improving bookkeeping processes across the practice. This role would suit someone looking for a good work life balance, and someone who is happy to carry out a bookkeeping based position whilst working from home. To be considered for this newly created role (July 2026) it is likely you will be an experienced Bookkeeper who can hit the ground running with at least 3 years’ experience working for a good quality accountancy practice firm, carrying out general bookkeeping and VAT duties. You must be up to date with all relevant rules and regulations, including in relation to small Ltd companies, sole traders and VAT schemes. You must also have strong and up to date Xero and HubDoc experience. You must be self-motivated, a team player, and be able to build strong relationships with your clients. You must have excellent communication skills and be friendly and looking to work in a niche yet growing accountancy firm.
