Residential Support Worker Role overview Location: Northampton Contract: Temporary to permanent Salary: £13.00 PH Rota Pattern: 8:00am-10:30pm 1 off 2 on Essentials: Driver, must be willing to full engage at al times. Energetic and have good experience with HIGH challenging behaviours You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and development of the Children in our care. Your responsibilities will include: • Providing Personalized Care: Offering individualised care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. • Promoting Independence: Encouraging and facilitating the development of life skills and independence among residents. • Creating a Safe Environment: Maintaining a safe and clean-living environment, following all safety protocols and procedures. • Implementing Care Plans: Collaborating with the care team to implement and monitor individual care plans. • Supporting Educational Goals: Assisting young people in accessing educational opportunities and supporting their learning and development. • Building Positive Relationships: Establishing and maintaining positive and respectful relationships with children, their families, and external professionals. • Documentation: Keeping accurate records and recording any incidents, following company policies. • Crisis Intervention: Responding to crisis situations calmly and effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and staff. Qualifications and Experience • Experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities is preferred. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. • Compassion, patience, and empathy. • Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends.
