Job description

To undertake duties governed by our contract and Direct and Local Enhanced Services including: Face to face and telephone consultations, clinical triage and home visits. Administration (such as dealing with queries, patient test results, NHS or private referral letters, tasks, emails and other paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner. Clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate, including initiating investigations, reviewing results, and making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. Collecting data for audit purposes. Compiling and issuing electronic acute and repeat prescriptions, reviewing repeat medications and completing medication reviews. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate. Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well as wider guidance such as that from NICE. Baby checks as and when required. Completion of cremation certificates and medical reports (NHS and private) when required. The fees for this work are retained by practice (unless you have prior agreement with GP partners and the work is completed outside of normal working hours/sessions). In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. Sessions 2 per week on a Tuesday.
