Job description

The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. The successful applicant must be available to participate in 1-2 visits per day and be part of the on-call rota. Duties include: • Provide comprehensive, high-quality general medical services to registered patients. • Undertake face-to-face and telephone consultations as appropriate. • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with current clinical guidance. • Prescribe safely and effectively within national and local prescribing policies. • Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services. • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including nurses, healthcare assistants, clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, social prescribers and care coordinators. • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using SystmOne. • Contribute to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in accordance with local and national policies. • Support health promotion, disease prevention and patient education. • Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews and quality improvement initiatives. • Contribute to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and other contractual requirements where appropriate. • Maintain professional registration, appraisal and revalidation requirements.
