Sales Account Manager Bristol (Hybrid) £45,000 - £50,000 Base + Performance-related bonus + company car / car allowance Due to on-going growth, our client is looking for a commercially driven Sales Account Manager to help accelerate growth across its expanding Commercial division. This is a high-impact role working closely with Board Directors and Senior Management, with responsibility for driving new business, developing strategic customer relationships, and growing revenue across existing and emerging sectors. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full sales cycle - from identifying opportunities and winning new accounts through account development, negotiations, forecasting and long-term growth planning. We are looking for someone with proven experience in geotextiles sectors such as construction, builders’ merchants, agriculture, horticulture, garden retail or similar trade channels who can bring energy, market knowledge and commercial instinct to the business. This role includes regular customer interaction and UK travel for client visits, relationship development and industry events. Key Responsibilities: Sales Growth & Business Development Drive profitable revenue growth across the Commercial division through new business wins and account expansion. Identify and develop opportunities in sectors including builders’ merchants, construction supply, garden retail, agriculture, horticulture and related markets. Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities. Own the sales process from lead generation through to negotiation and closing. Develop strategic sales plans aligned to company objectives. Identify opportunities for new product introductions based on customer demand and market trends. Account Management & Customer Relationships Manage and grow existing customer accounts through proactive relationship management. Conduct regular face-to-face customer visits across the UK. Build strong long-term partnerships with key accounts and decision-makers. Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained throughout the sales process. Support major customer negotiations alongside senior leadership where required. Market Development Monitor competitor activity, pricing movements and market trends. Recommend commercial actions to improve competitiveness and profitability. Represent the business at trade exhibitions, merchant events and industry shows. Reporting & Commercial Planning Maintain accurate CRM records for opportunities, meetings and pipeline activity. Deliver regular sales forecasts, reports and performance updates to the Board. Contribute annual budgeting and strategic planning. Support initiatives to improve margin, efficiency and customer retention. Person Specification Proven B2B sales experience in one or more of the following sectors: construction, builders’ merchants, agriculture, horticulture, garden retail, merchant distribution or related industries. Strong track record of winning new business and growing existing accounts. Commercially astute with sound understanding of margin management and pricing. Experience managing longer-term customer relationships and key accounts. Confident in customer-facing meetings, negotiations and presentations. Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously. Highly organised with strong pipeline and time management skills. Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office. Full UK driving licence preferred.
