Job description

Not every sales ledger role is about chasing overdue invoices. Sometimes it's about making sure things are done properly from the very beginning. This role sits at the front end of the sales ledger process, where you'll be responsible for setting up new customer accounts, reviewing documentation, carrying out credit checks and making sure everything is accurate before an account goes live. It's a role where attention to detail genuinely matters because getting it right first time makes life easier for everyone else. You'll be joining a business with an excellent reputation for developing its people. The finance team is collaborative, supportive and constantly looking for ways to improve processes, so if you enjoy finding better ways of working, your ideas will be welcomed. You'll need around 2-3 years' experience in a sales ledger or credit environment, be comfortable working with Excel and have the confidence to communicate with colleagues across the business. If you're organised, naturally inquisitive and enjoy working with data, you'll fit in well. What you'll be doing: • Setting up new customer accounts and ensuring all information is accurate and complete. • Reviewing customer documentation and carrying out credit and due diligence checks. • Managing new account requests from initial enquiry through to approval. • Maintaining customer records and updating account information when required. • Monitoring a shared inbox and responding to queries from internal stakeholders. • Working closely with finance, operations and risk teams to resolve issues quickly. • Producing reports and tracking new account activity. • Supporting projects to improve processes, systems and ways of working. • Identifying potential risks and escalating where appropriate. • Helping maintain the quality and integrity of customer data across the finance system. What you'll need: • 2-3 years' experience in a Sales Ledger or Accounts Receivable role. • Strong attention to detail with excellent levels of accuracy. • Good Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems. • Organisational and time management skills. • The ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines. • The confidence to build relationships across the business. • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and improve processes. What's in it for you? • An annual salary of up to £30k (depending on experience) • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays • Hybrid working If you're looking for a sales ledger role that offers more responsibility than simply raising invoices, this is a great opportunity to broaden your experience within a large finance function where there are genuine opportunities to develop your career.
