Account Support Manager
Salary: £30,000 + 20% Discretionary Bonus
About the Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Account Support Manager to join a growing business and support the delivery of exceptional service to commercial customers, ranging from single-site businesses to large, multi-site organisations.
Working closely with Key Account Managers, you will play a vital role in ensuring customer accounts are managed efficiently, operational activities run smoothly, and clients receive accurate reporting and outstanding service. This is a varied position combining customer service, administration, reporting, operational coordination, and account management support.
Key Responsibilities
• Support Key Account Managers with the day-to-day management of commercial customer accounts.
• Maintain accurate customer and site records, including locations, waste streams, container types, collection schedules, and pricing information.
• Produce monthly and quarterly customer reports covering waste volumes and tonnage, recycling and landfill diversion performance, cost analysis and spend trends, service performance and KPI reporting, and ESG and sustainability reporting.
• Prepare compliance documentation, including Waste Transfer Notes, Duty of Care documentation, and hazardous waste records.
• Coordinate collections with operations teams, drivers, and nationwide supplier networks.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries.
• Monitor service performance and proactively resolve operational issues before they impact customers.
• Support Quarterly Business Reviews by preparing reports and presentation materials.
• Work closely with logistics, operations, suppliers, and account managers to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and the overall customer experience.
About You
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and producing reports from operational data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• A calm and professional manner when dealing with service-related issues.
• Experience using CRM or business management systems (desirable).
• Experience within waste management, logistics, facilities management, or environmental services would be advantageous, although not essential.
